False Creek Surgical Centre is pleased to announce the launch of the “Abnormal Menstrual Bleeding Clinic,” a joint venture and mutual brainchild of Southern Health Centre and the latter’s Medical Director Dr. Roy Jackson, and False Creek Surgical Centre’s Medical Director Dr. Mark Godley. The Clinic offers comprehensive diagnosis and treatment, including a consultation with Dr. Jackson, an ultrasound conducted by a Radiologist, and an individualized health plan detailing subsequent care. Patients can be accommodated within 7- 10 days of referral.
The “Abnormal Menstrual Bleeding Clinic” at False Creek Surgical Centre invites Family Physicians to refer all patients that are experiencing dysfunctional uterine bleeding. We are thrilled to be able to provide women with superlative, specialized care.
Labiaplasty (Laser Assisted)
Laser Assisted Labiaplasty involves the use of a laser and stitching to reduce enlarged, asymmetrical or excessively long inner labia.
The procedure can be carried out using a variety of anesthesia: local, general or epidural. Patients report subsequent moderate discomfort and are advised to apply ice packs to the affected area and refrain from sexual intercourse for six weeks. Work can typically be resumed within five days.
Many women don't want the labia minora (the small inner lips) to project beyond the labia majora (the outer lips), and thus elect to undergo Laser Assisted Labiaplasty to reduce their size and thereby contribute aesthetic appeal to the vulva structures.
Uterine Balloon Therapy
This is a new outpatient procedure to reduce excessive menstrual bleeding (menorrhagia). Unlike hysterectomy, a common treatment for menorrhagia, which takes out the entire uterus, this procedure just destroys the lining of the uterus with the use of heat.
Laser Vaginal Rejuvenation
Laser Vaginal Rejuvenation is the laser-assisted reconstruction of vital vaginal areas, a modification of a standard gynecological procedure designed to treat vaginal relaxation. The procedure restores the vitality and youthful appearance of the vagina, treating the vaginal areas that are integrally involved in sexual response during intercourse, namely the outer third of the vagina, the internal and external diameter, and the perineal body. Vaginal relaxation is the primary cause of diminished sexual sensation, and Laser Vaginal Rejuvenation restores optimum structural architecture of the vagina, resulting in significantly improved sexual response.
The best candidates for the surgery are women who have experienced little or no sensation during sexual intercourse, as a result of vaginal relaxation due to childbirth.

SUI is the unintentional release of urine during normal everyday activities, caused by an improperly functioning urethra. TVT is an innovative, minimally invasive surgical alternative that restores the normal position of the urethra by weaving a "sling" of GYNECARE TVT™ polypropylene mesh tape beneath it. This alternative avoids painful abdominal operations and the related potential complications.
Zudiex - non surgical stress urinary incontinence solution
Surgical intervention is widely considered as the only effective option for stress urinary incontinence (SUI) however a surgical intervention is not always suitable for every patient.
