Do you send out information ?
Yes, we can send you information pertaining to
the surgical procedure(s) you are interested in,
our Centre and financing. Please send us an email
with your request.
Do you have charge for consultations?
Yes, it is a one time fee only, you meet directly
with the Plastic Surgeon and the fee is $50.
We also offer consultations with orthopaedic surgeons
and gynaecologists.
How long is the consultation?
Approximately 45 min.
How many Physicians and Surgeons do you
have?
We have many physicians and surgeons with privileges
at our facility. Please contact us to arrange
an appointment with the appropriate physician
or surgeon, at a time that is convenient to you.
How long is the surgery?
Depending on the surgery performed: 1 to 6 hrs.
When can I get back to work?
Many things contribute to the recovery period,
type of surgical procedure, length of surgery
and patient's health. On average for short surgical
procedures 1 to 2 weeks, lengthy procedures may
require longer.
Do you offer financing?
Yes. We offer three financial programs.
How soon after the consultation can I
have the surgery?
Anywhere between 1 to 4 weeks.
Do you have before and after pictures?
Yes, the Plastic Surgeons do.
How long have the Surgeons been practicing?
They have been practicing between 10 to 20 years.
Where does the surgery take place?
Surgery takes place at our Facility, where we
have 3 state-of-the-art operating rooms and a
large post-operative recovery unit.
Do I need to have blood work done, or
any other tests?
For patients that are 40 or older or patients
with problems relating to high blood pressure
we require an ECG test as well as haemoglobin
and other blood work. Blood work is required with
any surgery taking 3 hours or more. Other tests
might be required depending on the physical history
of the patient.
When do I pay for elective surgery?
We require a 25% down payment, and the full balance
2 weeks prior to surgery.
How many times before surgery will I
have to come and see the Surgeon?
You may come as many times as you feel necessary,
however, most patients come twice; the first consultation
appointment usually follows up with a pre-operative
appointment.
If you are from out of town or the country, you
may do the pre-operative consultation at the time
of the first consultation.
What type of Anaesthesia is used?
An anaesthetist will be present during your surgery.
He or she will determine which anaesthesia is
most suitable for your surgery.We have capabilities
for general anaesthesia, spinal anaesthesia, and
local anaesthesia with sedation.
Can I go home on my own?
No. On discharge post-surgically you MUST be
accompanied by a responsible adult who may either
drive you home or accompany you home in a taxi.
Public transportation is not an option.
Do you provide post-operative nursing
care?
Yes we do, if your surgery requires extensive
post-operative care, we will help you organize
a home care nurse.
Can I eat, drink or smoke before surgery?
No. Most surgical procedures require that you
refrain from eating past midnight; light fluids
may be taken up to 8 hours before surgery. In
terms of smoking, you should not smoke the day
of surgery, the best case scenario is to refrain
from smoking as long as you can prior to the date
of procedure.
When can I go back to gym?
It depends on the procedure, for minor procedures,
we usually ask the patients to refrain from exercise
for 7 to 10 days, other surgeries will require
up to a month.
Is there swelling?
Yes, usually there is swelling after most surgical
procedures, the degree of swelling is related
to the type of procedure .
How do I choose the best Surgeon ?
Depending on the type of surgery our facility
will place you with the Surgeon that specializes
in that particular procedure.
Can I see more than one Surgeon?
Yes.
Where can I check on the Surgeons past
history?
All Surgeons have applied and been approved by
the College of Physicians and Surgeons in order
to perform surgery at this facility. You are welcome
to contact the College for any further information
on a particular surgeon.
Are you opened on weekends?
Yes, we are opened Saturdays for consultations
and surgeries.
How late do you open?
Our patient-centered focus means that we take
early morning and evening consultations, to suit
our clients and patients.
