Dr.
Kimit Rai , FRCS(C), MBBS
Dr. Rai has over 25 years of experience in cosmetic,
plastic and reconstructive surgery. A graduate
of the University of British Columbia , he became
a Board Certified plastic surgeon in Canada in
1975, and in the US in 1977.
Dr. Rai was Chief of Surgery for the Simon Fraser
Health Region from 1989 - 1999 and Chief of the
Department of Plastic Surgery from 1983 - 1999.
Dr. Rai is a past president of the Canadian Society
of Plastic Surgeons and the Northwest Society
of Plastic Surgeons. He is a member of the Canadian
Society for Aesthetic (Cosmetic) Plastic Surgery,
the American Society of Plastic and Reconstructive
Surgeons, the American Association of Plastic
Surgeons and a surgical team member at False
Creek Surgical Centre.
Dr. Rai was born in Kuala Lumpur , Malaysia
. He is married with two grown children. He is
an avid runner. Dr. Rai is actively involved
in Operation Rainbow, a non-profit organization
of physicians who donate their services in underdeveloped
Third world countries. His expertise in cleft
lip and palate repair has benefited people in
the Philippines and Mexico.
