Mr Phillip Hassan, CEO
Providence Group
C/O St Paul's Hospital
Dear Mr Hassan:
The False Creek Surgical
Centre and the Cambie Surgery Centre would like
to offer an immediate solution to the Surgical
Waitlist Crisis facing St Paul's Hospital. Both
our Centres are fully accredited private surgery
centres located within a few blocks of the Vancouver
Hospital (VH) and St Paul's Hospital.
We would like to offer our
facility and skilled personnel to meet the surgical
needs of your hospital and its patients. The increased
flexibility and responsiveness to the needs of
St Paul's patients will reduce direct costs of
surgery and eliminate the toll individuals and
physicians face from delayed surgeries and help
to alleviate the nursing shortage. We believe
this practical solution will result in direct
cost savings and generate income for the hospital.
As a full service surgical
facility, we can help accomodate the scheduling
and needs of St Paul's Hospital. By providing
expedited care to your hospital and its patients,
this will result in better patient outcomes, increased
satisfaction and lower direct costs.
We do understand the political
sensitivities associated with contracted out surgical
care. Both the Lion's Gate Hospital and the Workers'
Compensation Board have clearly demonstrated these
advantages. Their intial fear of possible political
reprisal was unfounded and there has been strong
public support for their initiatives.
We would like to invite
you to tour our facility. We sincerely believe
we can be part of the solution to the current
crisis. Please contact us at (604) 739-9695.
Sincerely,
Dr Mark Godley
